About
Andrew Boyd, PT, DPT, is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy in California. He earned his clinical doctorate from California State University, Sacramento and also holds a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Azusa Pacific University. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Andrew’s passion for treating low back disorders stems from personal experience. During training while playing soccer in college, he sustained a lower back injury while lifting, leading to years of recurring setbacks despite multidisciplinary care. This journey inspired him to deeply study the root causes of back pain and develop a highly individualized approach to treatment.
After working in outpatient orthopedics PT, Andrew recognized the need for longer, one-on-one sessions that truly address each patient’s unique situation—beyond the standard short appointments and cookie-cutter programs. This insight led him to create Boyd Back Pain & Performance, where active individuals receive care that is tailored, comprehensive, and designed for lasting results.
Additionally, Andrew’s experience working in a hospital has given him a strong understanding of when back pain requires urgent medical attention… and how to effectively guide recovery when it does not.
Through Boyd Back Pain & Performance, Andrew provides a different approach; longer, one-on-one sessions focused on identifying the root cause of pain and helping patients return to activity with a clear and confident plan without the need for endless visits.
While the primary focus is on back pain, select clients with other orthopedic conditions may be seen on a case-by-case basis.
